Dry Bulk

Every year the inner port of Zeebrugge and the port of Bruges also handle and store approximately 1,598,080 million tonnes of bulk cargoes. Liquid bulk, predominantly fuels and foodstuffs such as molasses are kept in large storage tanks at specialized terminals such as the Tameco terminal.

Construction materials (sand and gravel) are discharged or loaded at the terminals of Hanson, Alzagri and ‘NHM’. Borlix NV has large siloes for the handling and storage of cereals, biological soya beans and seeds. Animal fodder, fertilizers and agricultural products are handled by ‘Seaport Shipping and Trading’ and ‘Minne Port Services’.
